The Launch - 2020

Well folks we had great plans of wetting the hull yesterday, but the fickle finger of fate stepped in.

The boat mover arrived early because we needed to make the low tide on the Nichol's ramp at 12:00. Boat took a while to load because it had sunk into the dirt over the years. After a lot of time the boat was finally free of the dirt and on the trailer. Yeah !! The driver checked everything and proceeded down the driveway and promptly slipped into the ditch.

Oh shit what to do now! Well the only rig that could lift the truck out of the ditch was in Mt Vernon. It was on it's way but we would miss our tide. The boat mover said they needed the trailer for the next day so they decided to take the great ship Sharon Rose to Anacortes. But now they had to wait for two more pilot cars to come from Marysville, because they would have to stop traffic on the Deception Pass Bridge on the way north.

Luckily we had arranged with AMG for a haul out on October the eighth. Robin from AMG called and told me all is well that we have a spot and it will be all ready for us when we arrived, and we can live on it in dry dock.

We arrived here at around 5:00 and they had just finished setting her up. So here we are singing "Up on the Ways" . We are closer to getting her wet but need to wait for the Spring as winter storms will be coming soon. Arizona is still hot so we will spend a week cleaning up the Freeland Boat works and a little TLC on the ship.
