From Coupeville Pier to Oak Harbor

The Sharon Rose has arrived in Oak Harbor!! Great 2 hour trip. Got cut off by a sailboat under power motoring along at high speed. Like everywhere else there are more horses asses out here then there are horses.
The fricken temp gauge sensor on the engine goes to 215 degrees then after a few minutes running it goes to 167 degrees. Goes to show you how inaccurate the gauges were back in the 60's.It dawned on me why it does that, it's because the thermostat on the engine opens up. So this tells me it is working fine, but I need to recalibrate the high temperature readings.
Here we are in 15 feet of water just outside the Oak Harbor Marina. Super glad we only draw 4.5 feet !
To celebrate, Gnettie and I are now thoroughly fricken drunk on margaritas !

An Oak Harbor September sunset !

Fred Flintstone showed up and lent us his car.

Oak Harbor Marina Review
This used to be a real cool friendly marina, not so anymore. If you anchor out, no facilities are available to you. Everything is totally locked up and needs entry codes, so no showers and no toilets facilities. Even the dumpsters are locked ! I offered to pay for the codes but no luck there. Gnettie couldn't even get near the laundry room, some masked lady kind of shooed her away. For scum like us there are porta-potties next to building 2. Gate to the main dock is locked at 8:00 so good luck if you're late getting back.
I asked where to park the dinghy and the fellow said they have no dinghy dock anymore. However I could dock it east of the fuel dock next to their little boats. So at least we can go into town and do the laundry an there is no locked gate to the fuel dock.
I'm going to write a review of this marina in the Navionics app so folks know what to expect if they anchor here.
It's always a wonder to me how people get to be in charge of a facility like this and by not knowing what the they're doing, run it into the ground. Another place on my list where fun goes to die. Kind of like our Wickenburg Airport.
There is a dinghy dock at the Flintstone park, with a restroom and garbage can. Plus it is right next to the bus station. But it is so shallow there it can only be used at high tide and it wouldn't be safe to leave the dinghy at the dock to go into town. So I drop Gnettie off and she does her magic and I pick her up again.
