We have a scheduled haul out on the 16th of September.
Good thing because the nights are getting colder out here.
So today we ventured out of Oak Harbor and headed to Anacortes. We had a following current the whole way. At one time at 1100 RPM I was going 8 knots. This continued on through the Swinomish channel.
At 900 RPM we were cruising up the channel at 6.0 knots. Weird to see the boat moving slow through the water then seeing the land rush by.
Short video of the run. It was getting misty and picture taking wasn't the best.
Anchored out with the big boys!
A tanker transferring crude oil to the refinery, and anchored next to us is a Fisher 35, a motor sailer.
Looking east from Anacortes.
The full video is 7 minutes, I fast forwarded it for brevity.
Entertained by another sail past from the Anacortes Yacht Club.
Anacortes turned out to be a great place to anchor out.
That night Oak Harbor was experiencing 13 westerly knot winds, but here in Anacortes the sea was like a mirror. So we were happy we made the descision to leave Oak Harbor and we may never return.
All we felt in the last 2 nights were the swells that rocked us to sleep every night.
