It is time to re-finish the sliding door. As I have mentioned earlier that the butyl rubber is crappy. It turned black in the ridges and wasn't really water proof anymore.
So a tear down and rework was in order.

Once I removed all the wood work for sanding I found a bad spot.

Standard operating procedure is to clean it all out. Use min wax Wood Hardener and then fill with wood & epoxy. |

The left side is done with clear Rustoleum Leak Seal so you can't really see it. The bright white area is done with Flex Seal.
The Flex Seal will not need to be painted because it is underneath the wood rail. This should last the rest of my days anyway.
