Last year when I was filling the steering system pump with oil I did not notice that the bottom plug was missing and all the hydraulic fluid drained into the forward bilge.
This is how I left it all winter. The switch was stuck "on" so I had to turn the bilge pump totally off so it wouldn't spew oil all over the boat yard.	Gnettie and I worked for about an hour to get it cleaned like you see it here. It is under the water tank and a bad design by me, myself and I which made it difficult to work under. Lots and lots of rags were used.
The switch started to work again but failed later on. Hopefully the short will heal itself after a while once the oil seeps out. We filled it back up with hot water and Dawn and decided to let it soak overnight to dissolve some of the grunge.
