Docking - 2020

For docking we'll need 4 lines: Bow; Stern; 2 Amidship spring lines. Then we'll need 4 fenders. 1" diameter for every 5' of boat means we'll need 10" fenders.
Cleats are sized by 1" for each 1/16" diameter of the belaying line. Therefore 5/8" line will require 10" cleats which I'll mount on each side of the boomkin.
This is the 5/8" Double Braid line we purchased from Knotty Girlz through Amazon.
Beautiful workmanship.
Here are the 4 10" by 28" through hole fenders. Came with nylon lines and an air pump.

Holes drilled through starboard side boomkin board, then through 2 beams and will terminate on a steel doubler. Roughed in ready to mount on port side.

Starboard side is complete. Doubler plate installed. I know you're asking why are the bolts so long? Well no one stocks the odd sizes like 7" coach bolts anymore. Plus the fact that a single galvanized coach bolt is over $2.50 each. Made in china by cheap labor and we pay these prices... Yikes!

Hawse pipe installation. Start off with a pattern I made from the hawse pipe and laid it out on the hull, and marked where to cut the circles. Circles cut..

After a whole day of fitting them in, here is the starboard side inside of the bullwarks. Port side outside. They look a little small but they only need to be big enough for 2 5/8 lines to run through them.
