Aft Cabin - 2018

All that's left to do this year are storage cabinets, the drawers and cabinet fronts. Also work in behind with storage partitions, and finish the pirate window casements.

So all I need to do is install the drawer rails. Yikes what a job to align and fit with nothing behind them to begin with.

After about a week here are the results. All rails aligned and fit on both sides.
   
Once the drawer slides are in I built a cage around the drawers to keep loose items out. Latches are also in place to keep the drawer in while underway.  
   
Gnetties bunk base is ready for covering. Covering it in white plastic is next. Drawers are all done, waiting for louvered door to install on the right.
   
Gary's bunk is ready for covering! Now that I can get up high enough to work on the pirate windows, it's time to frame them in and do a little magic.
   
Gnetties mattress base is covered in white plastic. Makes a cleaner surface to put the mattress on. Tie down hoops under the bunks.
   
Pirate window look completed. Bunk rail roughed in. Gnettie to finish coat it yet. Also see the mattress is there but needs trimming.
   
Inner lexan panels cut and ready to install. Double pane windows will keep it a little warmer in the Captain's bunk.. Lexan inner window installed. Used fur along the edges and against the little brackets to hold it in place.
   
Here is the side window with the 2 curtain rods in place. Curtain rods are spring loaded. Starboard side cabinet door all done. Clever use of bi-fold doors don't you think.

First Mate's bunk is ready !! Gnettie's curtains in place.
   
Making use of the area between the washer/dryer and the bulkhead. Place to store laundry supplies. OK now that it is all finished we decided we needed some cabinets. One over the washer/dryer, one over the navigation table and one at the foot end of each bunk. This is the one for over the navigation table. Again using bi-fold door panels.
   
I made them out of pine. Rails on each shelf to prevent spillage while underway. New cabinet roughed in place above navigation station.
   
Also a new cabinet for the washer/dryer supplies. Gnettie's foot end cabinet done, plenty of room for my big feet.
