House Batteries needed to be chosen and installed. I chose the Odyssey 31-PC2150 and will install 5 of them.
I decided not to use a separate battery for starting the engine.
The engine alternator will charge the anchor windlass battery and the house batteries while underway. |

In the area at the extreme aft end of the pilot house on each side of the engine drive shaft will be the house batteries. This is the first house battery installed on a Coast Guard approved battery tray. These plywood mounting tays will hold 3 batteries. |
Here is the tray for the starboard side which will hold 2 batteries. |

In order to work in this area I had to build a seat for the Captain. I can step on this then creep in and sit on it facing either direction. |
It folds in the middle so I have access the drive shaft.. |
