Just a couple of items here. Need to put a hand railing between the pilot house and the galley, and complete the quarter round molding on all the floor sections that are exposed.
Also need to finish the floor going into the aft cabin.

Here is the start. First I need to cut the curve out so it fits flush. I want the rail to be wide enough so we can pass plates and beer easiliy from the galley.
|
Curve is now cut out, ready for the cap rail. |

Cap rail roughed in. The tricky part is getting it to fit on the other end. |
Here is the other end. The beauty of this rail is that it is wide enough to also be a good hand hold when the ship is moving. |

Spent the day getting the rest of the trim down. Here I glued in the plugs, then when the glue dries I sand these down so they are flush. |
Here is a view of the companion way edging. |

On the other side the top area is done, just the plugging to go. |
The edges are 1" high and believe it or not, you can't buy molding that size anywhere. So I had to make them all myself. I used 2 X 2's and ripped , routed and sanded them.
Then cut them to fit, nailed and gorilla glued them into place. If you see the top edge you see I did not bevel the trim because these sections are removable from the floor.
This is also the area where I need to finish the floor. |

Here is a view under the seatee. The finish nail holes need to be filled, then the whole works sanded again and varathaned. |
Stairway to aft cabin done. |

Got rid of the metal trim on the bottom section and made my own wood trim. |
Corner is done. |
