Building the Rudder - 2004

Building the rudder.
This is the drawing I made to have the stainless steel rudder skeleton made as shown in the next pictures. Cutting out a form to become the inside of the rudder.
   
All lines drawn around the skeleton. Here it is all cut out and ready to fit.
   
It fits!! I put it on the boat to straighten the tangs and make sure I designed it to fit properly. Like I hope it doesn't hit the transom at its most extreme angle.
   
First Layer of fiber glass installed. 2 Mat and 1 roving on both sides. Now I have to layer it up so it becomes an airfoil.
Here is the Captain inpecting the work.
Now when I find a "star to steer her by", l'll have a rudder to do it!
