This is the bulkhead between the galley and the pantry. I measured it up, sharpened the saw and cut the sucker out! | Now that the pesky bulkhead is removed, notice how much more room we'll have. I also left part of the bulkhead for support for the counter top. What you see there will be the countertop level. Under the counter we plan to have slide in drawers for all our canned goods, etc. The sink and stove will go on the bulkhead next to the pilot house. |
Not to waste material, the old bulkhead is now made into a floor. Notice the ribs ready to be glassed over. This will be my first task in 2002. | I found a big box and it is the same size as a fridge. Instead of trying to build a fridge and freezer I decided to buy a Norcold Marine unit and just set it in place. This will save weeks and weeks of time. The actual fridge wil go right up to the cabin top. Beside the fridge against the hull will be our cold locker with access through the counter top. Here we will keep potatoes, onions etc. The locker will be the same temp as the water, because I am not going ot insulate in that area. |
